"His campaign should pay this bill - NOT citizens of Colorado."

(Denver, CO) - Yesterday, the office of Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper announced, via a letter to the public, the hiring of a new 'Senior Media Advisor'. The announcement comes only hours after Center Partners in Fort Collins announced they would lay-off 600 employees.

Candidate for Governor Tom Tancredo minced no words in his criticism of this new hire by Hickenlooper. "The Colorado economy continues to sputter and these 600 employees are only further proof that this Governor has no plan to grow the Colorado economy. The list is long, but we've already lost the jobs at Magpul because of this Governor's policies. And now this?"

Tancredo said, "I would think that with the public announcement of 600 more Coloradans joining the ranks of the unemployed, Hickenlooper would take action to tell us how he intends to revive our Colorado economy. Instead, he announces that he is hiring a new taxpayer funded employee at $130,000 per year."

According to the letter released by Hickenlooper's office, the new 'Senior Media Advisor' will handle "speech writing, cross-agency communication, social media, and other projects."

"We once again see that this Governor has no problem growing the size of government and it's payroll, all while Coloradans continue to struggle to pay their bills and find gainful employment. Even the Denver Post mentions that this new hire comes at a time when Hickenlooper's reelection is no longer a 'cake walk' due to the Governor's bowing to his very liberal
tendencies." Tancredo continued, "As I've said before, Hickenlooper played the part of a mild-mannered moderate in order to be elected Governor, only to reveal his very liberal tendencies once elected"

Tancredo concluded by saying, "It's the height of irresponsibility to hire a taxpayer funded staff member at $130,000 per year plus benefits to help you better communicate why you should be reelected. His campaign should pay this bill - NOT citizens of Colorado."
