". . . in a Tancredo administration, rural Colorado will be welcome at the head of the table, not locked in the basement.”

(Lakewood, CO) – With efforts continuing in some of Colorado’s rural counties to secede and form a 51st state, and one county considering secession in hopes of joining the State of Wyoming, gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo made the following statement:
"Many Colorado counties will be asking voters this November to approve secession from Colorado. This is a sad commentary on the emerging legacy of the Hickenlooper administration and his out of-control, extreme State legislature.

Both the Governor and the Democrat majority in the general assembly have ignored rural Colorado’s needs on a host of issues from energy, to gun rights, and tax rates.

Everyone knows this secession movement would not be happening if the former Mayor of Denver had not shown disdain for the concerns and values of rural Colorado. Hickenlooper has even claimed that rural Colorado, unlike Denver, is full of ‘backward thinking people.’

I promise that in a Tancredo administration, rural Colorado will be welcome at the head of the table, not locked in the basement.”
