Tom Tancredo: 'Steve King Is Right' About Drug-Smuggling Dreamers

www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/29/tom-tancredo-ste....html

"In his op-ed, titled "Dreams And Nightmares: Steve King Is Right Again," Tancredo joined King in scoffing at his bipartisan critics.

"The exact words Rep. King used ... are easy to criticize," he said. "But King’s substantive point is demonstrably true. There are in fact far more drug smugglers (and other criminals) than future valedictorians among the nearly 2 million youthful illegal aliens who would qualify for the 'Dream' amnesty.""

Tom Tancredo to Hickenlooeper: 'I’m challenging you to a debate'

blogs.denverpost.com/thespot/2013/07/29/tom-tancre...98891

"“This is no time for ‘drive-by’ economic policies. A real leader should explain and clarify why he wants to reach further into the pockets of Coloradans. You can’t say you want to tax us all more and then ‘go dark.’” Tancredo, who served in the U.S. Department of Education under President George H.W. Bush, said in a statement."

Former Colorado public school teacher, Tom Tancredo, challenges Hickenlooper to debate billion-dollar tax Increase.

For Immediate Release: July 29, 2013
Contact: Jimmy Lakey jimmy@tancredoforgovernor.org

Hickenlooper wants a tax increase. Tancredo wants to lead Colorado back to days of prosperity.

(DENVER) – Over two weeks ago, Governor John Hickenlooper, whispered his support for a billion dollar tax increase on the people of Colorado while behind closed doors with political insiders. His claim is that the billion-dollar tax increase will benefit education in Colorado. Former Colorado public school teacher, and now gubernatorial candidate, Tom Tancredo says,"I’d be one of this proposals biggest supporters if I believed for a moment that the funds would really improve the quality of education for our kids. I don’t!”

Tancredo has a unique perspective and deep knowledge regarding education in Colorado. He is a former Colorado public school teacher who taught Civics at Drake Junior High. Then after serving in the Colorado State Legislature, he was chosen by the Ronald Reagan Administration as the Secretary of Education’s Regional Representative. Tancredo was reappointed to this Department of Education post by President George H.W. Bush.

With Tancredo’s unique perspective on education, he is challenging Hickenlooper to debate this billion-dollar tax increase saying,"Gov. Hickenlooper, I’m challenging you to a debate, or a series of debates, on this tax increase proposal. You can name the time! You can name the place! Let’s get the facts out there so the people of this State can make an informed decision.” (CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO AUDIO via soundcloud.com/tomtancredo )

Following Gov. Hickenlooper’s secretive endorsement of this billion-dollar tax increase, he has done little to explain his support to the citizens of Colorado. Hickenlooper’s staff did send a brief text message to Colorado media confirming his support but has not provided a direct statement from the Governor. When Hickenlooper did briefly comment in public, he admitted that the tax increase would be"steep”.

Tancredo says,"This is no time for ‘drive-by’ economic policies. A real leader should explain and clarify why he wants to reach further into the pockets of Coloradans. Our economy continues to sputter and unemployment remains too high. You can’t say you want to tax us all more and then ‘go dark’. Where’s the true leadership?”
"The people of Colorado deserve better,” Tancredo continued,"They deserve a full explanation as to why they should give up more income. This is truly just another big government, tax & spend proposal. It’s no wonder that Denver Post is asking in their headlines if ‘Hick has lost his moderate mojo’. His support of this billion-dollar tax increase is just one more piece of evidence.”

The Tancredo debate challenge stands and the Tancredo campaign is now awaiting word from Hickenlooper’s office regarding the date & location for this public debate and discussion.

www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/07/24/Exclus...nesty

This is what liberals do. They make it impossible to discuss issues by characterizing any critic of amnesty or in-state tuition or any other such thing as "hateful."

Once you can get a couple of Republicans to repeat the line, the narrative starts to stick with the media and they start repeating it. At that point it becomes impossible for our side to debate the issue. And then people of good conscience who share our view shut their mouths because they don't want to be branded as a xenophobe.

It's just like Shelby Steele said in the WSJ (online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142412788732444810457....html):

"Poetic truths succeed by casting themselves as perfectly obvious: 'America is a racist nation'; 'the immigration debate is driven by racism';
'Zimmerman racially stereotyped Trayvon.' And we say, 'Yes, of course,' lest we seem to be racist. Poetic truths work by moral intimidation, not reason."

An article that reflects my position on issues, how unusual

"Tancredo doesn’t consider public schools to be all-bad, nor or all private schools to be necessarily good. While he doesn’t claim to know what is the best school for your child, he suggests the best way to maximize each child’s experience is to give the parents a choice."

Question - In the Gang of Eight bill, how many times could an illegal alien forge a passport before he or she could be prosecuted?

Leahy: Senate Immigration Bill Says Forging Two Passports Is Not a Crime | CNS News:: www.cnsnews.com/news/article/leahy-senate-immigrat...crime

"Title 18, Section 1541 of the U.S. Code provides for fines and imprisonment up to 25 years for granting, issuing, or verifying "any passport" without proper authority. But Section 3707 of the nearly 1,200-page Senate immigration bill amends that section to impose criminal penalties only after a person fabricates "three or more" phony passports."

Next question

How long will the Governor stall the election? Senator Morse hopes it won't be until students are back in school at Colorado College, a hotbed of left wing politics and student activists.
Meantime the play book will be the one written by Rohm Emmanuel and Barack Obama and funded by Mayor Bloomberg. Of course the Colorado gang of three (Jarod Polis, Tim Gill and Pat Striker) will do their part.
Watch for character assassination, voter intimidation, bribery and every conceivable dirty trick imaginable.

Fwd: Great Predictions

Ponder this when its time to vote on the tax increase this November. The average annual cost of a child in a Colorado public school is around $11000. The average class size is about 22. That means that every classroom produces $242,000 for the school. The average teacher salary with benefits is approximately $60,000. That means $184,000 goes somewhere else! Not included in this amount is funding for buildings! Think about it.

Tancredo says Hickenlooper ‘should be ashamed’ for Supporting a Billion Dollar Tax Increase on Coloradans.

(Complete Press Release for July 11, 2013)

Hickenlooper wants a tax increase. Tancredo wants to lead Colorado back to days of prosperity.

(DENVER) – Yesterday, while speaking at a breakfast meeting, Governor John Hickenlooper once again displayed his weak & ‘out of touch’ leadership by quietly announcing his support of a billion dollar tax increase (Initiative 22) on the people of Colorado.
Even after whispering his support for the tax increase, it took further prodding by a television reporter to confirm Hickenlooper’s support, and even that confirmation was only issued via text message.
"Why the secrecy? If you are doing the right thing for the people of Colorado, why not call a press conference?” asked gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo. "Why not invite the cameras? Why not issue an official statement? If you are doing the right thing, the shroud of secrecy isn’t necessary!”

Recent jobs numbers show that Colorado has an unemployment rate that continues to hover near 7%, the private sector lost 5000 more jobs, and 9000 more workers joined the ranks of the unemployed.
"With an economy that continues to sputter, it is amazing that he would support this tax increase,” Tancredo said. "It is really no wonder that he whispered his support. He’s acting ashamed and I guess that is appropriate. He should be ashamed of wanting to burden the people of Colorado with yet another government dig into their pocketbooks.”
"This Governor has now raised utility rates for those in rural Colorado, he’s followed marching orders from Michael Bloomberg to take away gun rights, and now he wants the big hand of government to take away an even higher percentage of your income,” Tancredo continued. "He ran for office as a moderate. This might be the biggest bait & switch in the history of Colorado politics.”

Tancredo added,"I can assure you that Governor Tancredo will not need to hide behind a shroud of secrecy. When you’re standing on the right principles, you don’t have to whisper! John Hickenlooper continues to take us down the wrong path. We must bring government back under control and lead Colorado back to days of economic prosperity. Raising taxes is not the way.”

Governor Hickenlooper announces support for $950 Million in new taxes

RevealPolitics gets an exclusive ... kind of ...

Hispanics support Tancredo position on amnesty over Marco Rubio & The"Gang of Eight”.

(Full version of July 9 Press Release)

Survey shows that Hispanics, by wide-margin, want"Border Security First”.

(DENVER) – A new poll show shows that a large majority of Hispanic voters support the position of Colorado Gubernatorial candidate, Tom Tancredo, over the position of Marco Rubio, John McCain, and current Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, all backers of the"Gang of Eight” Amnesty Bill.

The survey was done by GOP Pollster, John McLaughlin (www.mclaughlinonline.com) and shows that by a margin of 60 to 34 percent, registered Hispanic voters only support granting legal status to illegal immigrants after work is complete to stop at least 90% of future illegal immigration into the USA. Even among Hispanic adults who are not registered to vote, the margin was almost identical at 60 to 32 percent.
"Once again we have a shining example of the political class failing to understand the pulse of the American people.” said gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo. "The fact is that Americans from all backgrounds understand the need for any sovereign nation to secure its borders. Doing so isn’t just a matter of national security; there are severe economic realities that must be considered. I believe it is a dereliction of duty for any politician to ignore these facts.”

Tancredo added,"Despite what detractors have said, my thoughts on border security are well within the mainstream of thought in the American Hispanic population. This is a banner that I will gladly carry! Hispanics in Colorado deserve a Governor who will represent them. We are all tired of politicians from both parties that simply go along with all that is passed down from powerbrokers, lobbyists, and the media.”
"The chief executive for Colorado must govern with his constituents’ best interests at heart,” said Tancredo. "Colorado Hispanics recognize that open borders mean that those Americans who are on the lowest rung of the economic ladder are impacted more negatively than any other group.”
